Yay! I love water bottles! I love drinking water, and so I love having an easy, convenient way to do so. Go here and fill out your information, and they will send you a free water bottle.
So, I decided that I really was taking too much time doing the couponing, and that I needed to streamline. So, I am only going to look for the very best (my favorite) deals, and do a list of those, rather than trying to list everything. There are various places where you can get lists. Grocery Smarts has a comprehensive list, Freebies2Deals has some, and Savvy Sister Shops is another I like to follow. So, here is my list of favorites from this week.
Well, I have no idea how this smells, but samples of fragrances are always nice, because then you don't have to spend all the money before you know if you like the way the scent mixes with your chemical makeup. So, just go here and fill out your information. There are also survey questions, but you don't have to answer them. I didn't get any confirmation of them sending me my sample, so we'll see if they actually send it, but it doesn't do much damage if they don't, it was a FREE sample.
Yay for samples of toiletries! I love using these for travel, they don't take up as much space, and they don't make as much mess if they do spill. Here's a free sample of toothpaste, and who doesn't need that? Just fill out your information, choose whether you want a sample, or a $1 off coupon, and hit submit. The coupon is probably the better value, but if you've never tried this toothpaste before you may want to try it first before buy a full-sized. (Some people can be very choosy with their toothpaste).
Now, I know some people don't use couponing as much because they prefer to buy organic, or they think they can't eat as healthy because the coupons are always for junk. Well, I just found some coupons from Organic Valley for you. Go here to pick the ones you want. You can print 2 copies of each coupon. Enjoy!
I think the healthy ones are my favorites. (yes another favorite. I have lots of favorites) So just go here and choose what you want to sample. Hit submit, and fill out your information. It does ask for you to join their community, but you don't have to in order to get your sample.
Now seriously, who doesn't love free chocolate? You can get a free piece of Godiva chocolate every month by going here and signing up for their rewards club! (Plus you can also get some other cool offers from them) Here in Utah Valley, the Godiva chocolatiers are all inside other stores (Barnes & Noble, Macy's and Dillards) I had to make sure I knew where to go for this. So, just go click join now, and fill out your information. You may not want to use your junk email for this one, if they're going to send you more offers. After submitting, it will ask you to take a questionnaire, you don't have to. Then all you have to do once a month is go in to a store and claim your free chocolate.
Yay! I love yogurt freebies too! Yogurt is one of those things that are a little more rare around this house, because it's hard to find sales that make the prices quite good enough with the coupons. So I am all for freebies. So, all you need to do is go here, and sign up for the Betty Crocker newsletter, and get your free sample. It will actually come as a coupon, but hey, that's even better than a sample, because that's free full-size product!
I have to say, I think the hygiene product feebies are some of my all time favorites. They can just be so dang expensive! So here's another free sample (that has more than 1 in it) Just fill out your information, and submit it, and they will send you your free sample!
We all have them. We use as many of the coupons that we clip as possible, but sometimes they just expire before we can get to them. So... what should we do with them? I can think of a couple of options.
1-Recycle them. Not the best option, but probably the easiest. Doesn't take much time to throw them in a recycle bin with the rest of your paper (especially since we're getting multiple copies of the newspapers, so we're have lots of paper to recycle).
2-Arts and crafts. You can use the coupons to modge-podge frames or scrapbook album covers, or chairs or tables. With all the colors, it could end up being really cute. A better option, because you aren't just adding waste to our planet, and you aren't having to find time to take the paper out to the recycle bin, and hey, you can get cute kid's chairs and cute frames and such from it. It would take a lot of time though.
3- MY FAVORITE OPTION -Send them overseas to our military families on bases in foreign countries. There is a fairly extensive list of military bases overseas that are accepting expired coupons, and the families can use them on base for 6 months after they expire. The list of bases who are accepting coupons will change periodically, so the best thing would be to just go to Grocery Saving Tips and scroll down when you are going to send those coupons out.
A few tips to follow:
Cut all of your coupons you will be sending. It will cut down on shipping costs.
Divide coupons into "Non- Food" and "Food" Categories. Put them in two separate plastic baggies. Pet food is considered a non-food item.
They can only use regular Manufacturer coupons. So don't send store coupons or printed coupons of any sort.
Send your coupons out quickly after they expire. If your coupons are expired longer than 2 months, don't send them.
Now, yes, this will take a little more of your time, but if you've already been clipping every coupon as I have, the only real time it will take is pulling the expired coupons out (which you'd already be doing) separating them into food/non-food, (which they may already be if you are using a binder) and putting them in an envelope to mail (and addressing and sending) Definitely the best option as far as I'm concerned.
Just thought I'd let you know that there are options out there for what to do with those coupons you just couldn't quite get to.
I have to say, I found a new favorite thing about couponing. Today was the BSA food drive in my area, and having extra food on hand that I could give them was great. Even better was that I didn't have to worry about being able to put that back into my food storage because a good portion of what I gave them, I got for free! Here is a picture of everything I was able to give them. We don't have a very big food storage yet, or I would have given multiple bags, but I have to say I am proud that I had to double bag, and that it didn't fit into the bag they gave us. Anyway... The picture.
Okay so I made my trek up to Ogden to Family Fresh Foods yesterday. After the change in the coupon policy I wanted to see if it was still worth it to travel up there once a month. Yes! absolutely! I saved $20 MORE than I would have down here in Utah Valley. Even with the gas that my car takes, that is a $13 savings! Very exciting. So... are you ready for what I got!
I don't think I can go through and list what I got. I'm feeling far too lazy right now. But I got all of this for only $39 and change! I saved $40 in coupons as well. That is over a 50% savings! And, I didn't have coupons for the produce, and some of the items were not on sale, but are staples that I like to have on hand. So I think I did pretty dang good. It did take a lot of time. I did walk up and down the aisles looking for things that I either had a coupon for, or the price was low enough that if I had a coupon I'd take it, so I stopped to look through my binder fairly frequently, but I think it was well worth it.
Okay, I just saw this and you should thank me because I am telling you about it before I get the coupons myself. Normally you can find Campbell's coupons for $1/4. Well, go here and get one for $1/2!! You will need to register, so you will only be able to get 2, even if you have multiple computers (dang) ;) Thanks 'Thrifty Ideas' for the info! Just sign up, and then click on coupons and savings, and then select the coupons you want!
Yup, free food from restaurants, another favorite of mine. You should never pay full price for anything, and that includes eating out at restaurants. Just go here and fill out your information to get your free chili dog. They will send it to you in an email in a few days.
Yay! for free diapers! (Even if it is just one or 2) I seriously think that diapers are the biggest expense my family has. So... Go here and either log in or sign up. There are actually a few higher-value coupons on the site you go to as well as the sample, so have fun with that. Just mark which offers you want, and submit to then fill out your information and get your freebies!
More necessities that I can get free? (and a coupon included) COUNT ME IN!!! I love freebies! So, just go here and fill out your information, and they'll send it to you. (4-6 week delivery time)
Go here to see if you will be chosen to have a 5 react experience. You will need to connect with facebook, It will play a video, and then if you are 'chosen' you will need to enter your address so that you can receive your black envelope in the mail. (I believe it will be something to do with free gum)
These are little bite-sized energy boosts for those of you who are athletic, or if you just need a little bit of extra energy during your work day, or running after your kids. Go here and register for your free sample. Or, if you already have an account, just log in, and you can still get the freebie. You will need to either fill out your information, or check to make sure it's correct and resubmit and it will take 3 to 5 weeks to get to you.
Woohoo! more freebies! I love these, and it doesn't really take me any more time to share them with all of you, so have fun! This will be the first of 9 freebie posts (if they all work) but they will have separate posts, so here it goes...
Now, this is actually a coupon, and it isn't completely free, but if you are one who regularly buys bottled water, its a great coupon for you. go here and print your 2 coupons for buy 2 get 1 free! You may have to search for the coupon, I don't know how to get it to you individually.
Woohoo! I love getting flour coupons, and since these are on the same page, may as well get them both right? You never know when your going to see a really good sale, or find something on clearance and wish you had printed that coupon.
Well, I know this is an expense a lot of us deal with, and I know I haven't seen very many deals where this becomes free, so any time I can get a freebie of it, I'm there. So, all you do is go here, fill out your information, and a few questions, hit submit, and they will send you your sample (which includes 3 tampons) in 4-6 weeks.
Ritz Munchables-Here's another one of the facebook fan freebies. Just go to facebook, become a fan here, and then click on the green square (where it says to) fill out your information, and they will send you your free sample. (4-6 weeks).
Physicians Formula- okay, not exactly a freebie, but almost. It's a b1g1 free coupon that they're giving you. So again, go to facebook and become a fan here. Then you need to register (click on "Register now") fill out your info in the pop-up and they will email you your coupon. Now, most of these I would fill out with your junk email address, but this one, you may not want to, just in case it gets lost in there. It also actually looks like you can print the coupon twice!
10th Anniversary freebies- This is great. Vistaprint is having a 10th anniversary sale here, and they have 10 products that they are willing to give you for absolutely free! But the offer ends in 2 days, so you have to act fast! There are return address labels, business cards, calendars, tote bags and more! I haven't done it yet, because I want to get this done first, (and with the uploading of photos and such... I'll do that next), so I don't know, but I'll be willing to bet you need to pay shipping at least on the order, if not on the individual items. edit: you do have to pay shipping, but slow shipping (21 days) is $5.97. Still a fantastic deal!
Free Puffs Plus to-go pack- Yay for these! I love keeping them in my purse or diaper bag, so that I actually have tissues with me when I need them. So, go here and enter your vocalpoint email address and password. If you are not a member yet, go here to sign up. Once you are registered, and have logged in through the first link (puffs) fill out your information and hit submit. You will be sent a package, and it should be there within 3-5 weeks.
Free Stride Gum-Here's another facebook one. Go become a fan of Stride gum, and then go to the MegaMystery tab. You will need to use Firefox for this one, because it seems the others have a bug. But once you're on the MegaMystery tab, click on the Stride gum picture, and then fill out your information and they will send you a package of the mystery flavor.
So there you are. 5 new freebies for you all to check out. Have fun!
Well, the results of my work doing couponing anyway. I've been doing various freebies, and rebates, and they have started to make their way into my mailbox. These have come over the past 2-2 1/2 weeks.
So, I've got a coupon, 2 things of shampoo and conditioner, a bar of soap, a packages of prunes and an $8 check! I love this. All except the check were freebies, and the check made it so that I got 2 packages of paper for $1 each. My favorite use for the shampoo/conditioner samples... TRAVELING!! I don't have to pack full sized anything, and these are very unlikely to burst in transit, and they take up very very little space. I'm hoping to have enough of these by July when we go on our family vacation. I'm also hoping to have saved enough from couponing, and my survey sites that we don't really have to pay anything from my husband's paycheck.
Okay everyone, I figured that since I match things up anyway, I'd let you all take a peek at my list. Most of these are from the Sunday papers, but I didn't write which week (sorry, maybe next time) However, I found this great website, that you can go to, and enter in the brand name, and it will tell you what coupons are available from the Sunday papers, and then tell you what insert they're from! Great isn't it! If the coupon isn't on the list, then I probably printed it from online, from either Coupons.com, smartsource.com, or target's coupons. So yeah, here ya go. Next time I'll try to be better about getting you the specific coupons.

Wow, So, I have tons and tons of freebies that I've found (if they all work) and I don't have time to go through and give them all their own separate post. So this is going to be the major post of the day with all of these freebies in it. They all worked for me, hopefully they'll all work for you as well.
Here's the first one. Olay Total Effects. I'm actually currently using it, and it's pretty good, though I don't know about it's claim to younger looking skin. So, go to the website, click on request your free sample, follow the directions, fill out the information, and you should have your freebie in about 4 weeks.
And for number 2: Get a $1/1 coupon for Kix here. I love those coupons, especially on cereal, because as long as they are not DNDs then if you have a store that will double, you can get cereal for really really cheap. You should be able to print it twice (yay for that) and it will expire 1 month after you print it. Edit, it is a DND, so no doubling, but it is still $1/1
For our third freebie, HURRY HURRY HURRY, there are only 10,000 of these spring cleaning kits from SC Johnson. This includes: One box ziploc bags One Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaning gel One Pouch of Pledge Multi-Surface wipes
Go fill out your information, but then you'll have to wait, because they aren't being mailed out until June 15th. Hopefully a good number of us will get in the first 10,000.
Okay, okay, this one isn't a freebie, but we all need lots of printer ink, and here is a great code. eForCity.com has great prices on ink, and the ink works very well, even though they're not actually the name brands. They do have a 10% off code effective right now though. You can use the code EF10YEAR to get 10% off any order, including printer ink, through March 31st. (Thanks Melea for this one)
The next one is more coupons actually. We have an offer from Kraft foods and P&G to get $20 worth of coupons for Albertson's. Now, for any of us living here in Utah, that doesn't necessarily do a whole lot of good, seeing as we don't have any Albertson's anymore, but they may be Manufacturer coupons, in which case they would be great. Just go here and fill out your information and they'll send you your coupons in the mail, and you should have them in 2 to 3 weeks.
Okay, anyone for free children's books? Let me tell you I sure am. Go here to find books, and you can open them with Adobe Acrobat (which you can download for free here) Yay! for reading to our children!
Okay, so some of them actually were already expired, but that still felt like a lot. Go get 'em!
Well, the CoverGirl freebie I told you about (double up the b1g1s) worked. Unfortunately though, I have to say that overall I am not very pleased with Rite Aid. They just didn't have very good stock. I tried to get some of the deals I had looked at, and they were out of the products, and for the CoverGirl, they were out of my color in all but 1 type. Now, I didn't complain too much on that one, because they did have my color, and it was free, but unless there are super good things like that again, I probably won't be shopping at Rite Aid very much.
Free diapers are my favorite! Yes, it is a sample, so only 2, but still, especially on this one, I'll take what I can get. Fill out your information here and answer the questions at the bottom of the page. Submit it and then wait 4-6 weeks. You do NOT have to be a Costco member to get this.
Yay! for free samples, but they only have 5,000, act fast. Go here and fill out your information. Unfortunately, it won't tell you whether or not you're one of the 5,000 when you register, but it may send an email to you about it.
Go here to get a $1 off coupon when you become a fan on facebook. This is great! Especially if you have access to a store that will double coupons, then you can get this for free or nearly free. Yay! I love this. Its so fun.
So my friend over at Our Thrifty Ideas Become One let me know about this great deal at Rite Aid. They will allow you to stack a b1g1 coupon on top of their b1g1 deal. She got $42 worth of cosmetics for pennies (tax is still applicable). For those of you who've been getting the Sunday papers, you should have a b1g1 Covergirl coupon. It was in the February 7th P&G packet. Rite Aid has a b1g1 promotion going on for the exact same thing. Free Makeup anyone?!?!?! Now, That worked at her Rite Aid in the Salt Lake Valley, I'll be going to one down here in Utah Valley to see if they do that here too. Hopefully it is a company-wide thing.
Thanks Nessa!
Now, I know, not everyone needs a nightlight, but if you have nieces, nephews, grandchildren, children, or even just friends with small children, this is free, so you may as well get it for one of them!
Just go here, sign up (close the pop-up window, you don't need it), and they will ship you a FREE LCD nightlight in the next 7 to 10 business days
Okay, so I told you last night that I was going to get you some freebies today, well, here's the start of those. Taking care of my baby obviously takes first precedence, but she's asleep right now. As long as she stays that way, I have a lot of tabs in my browser with links to free stuff. Hopefully they all still work for you.
Go here to get a free sample of the Purex 3-in-1 (it has 2 sheets). You just need to fill out your information and a few questions, and then they'll send you a sample (6-8 weeks for delivery)
I know, I know, its been a few days since I posted, which isn't as normal anymore. We've had some interesting things going on this week here at my place, (including fixing my computer) so I haven't really been able to get on here. I promise though, tomorrow will have as many freebies as I can find, as well as some good deals. To start off with... here is my favorite deal from Walgreen's this week.
Walgreen's has the John Frieda collection on sale for $5.99, but there is an in store coupon for $2 off. If you don't have the coupon, no worries, it is in the blue March booklet that is by the ads when you first walk in. So, now, we're seeing the fancy salon-quality hair care on sale for $3.99. That's looking much more reasonable. But wait! In this week's (3-7) Smartsource coupon booklet there was another coupon... $3 off of 1! Let me tell you, I was way excited to get these for $0.99 each. I get 4 papers a week, so I got 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners for $4 (plus tax). Sorry, I know its a little late in the week, but you still have 2 days to be able to get this deal.
Oh my goodness! this week was fantastic as far as my shopping trip was concerned. I went to a few different stores, and came home with loads of goodies. However, I think I have completely run out of freezer space now, but that wasn't difficult to do, considering I'm living in an apartment, and only have the small one connected to our fridge. Most of these deals came from multiple copies of that budget buster booklet from Maceys (though I used them at Ridley's Family Market as well), but I did go to 5 different stores. I'm not above going to multiple stores, even if I'm only getting one thing there. (as long as the store isn't too far) So... are you ready for the numbers??? I paid $29.07 out of pocket (including tax). The original cost of everything (not including the sale prices) $136.29 That is a savings of 78.7%!!!!! Oh my goodness! That is definitely the best I've ever done. So, are you ready for the picture and the list? I'm so excited... It was fantastic. I love doing this.
no pictured: 5 gallon bucket and lid to hold the 25lbs of flour
Okay, so... Here is what I got...
-1 Satin Care Shave gel
-1 Edge Shave Gel
-5 Quaker Cereal 15 oz
-1 25 lb bag flour
-7 Land ‘O Frost lunchmeat 16oz
-8 Armour Lunchmakers
-1 WF med cheddar 2lb
-4 Babybels
-1 Aveeno lotion
-1 Shout wipes (travel)
-storage bucket w/lid
-Snuggle liquid softener
-16 buddig lunchmeat
-super saver pork 2.48lb
-super saver beef 1.63lb
-2 big buy bacon 16oz
I was reeling by the time I finished. And most of it was more "need" than just "I can get a good deal". So yeah, people ask if couponing is worth it, well, when I got 9.5 lbs of lunchmeat for virtually free... I have to say a clear and resounding YES!!!!
I love rebates! Even if I did already spend the money out of pocket, it is nice that companies will give you things for free. Especially on things that make your life easier. No one likes cleaning the toilet, but this does make it not quite so bad.
The Clorox Toilet Wand is priced at $9.63 at Target. You can use the $5.00 off coupon then send in for the $5 rebate. Total cost to you? Its a $0.37 money maker! (Okay, that's not counting tax, but still)
The wand probably costs about the same at Walmart, so whichever you choose. ;)
Yup, another freebie here. A free 10.5oz bag of Sunchips this time! This is one of those facebook freebies, so all you have to do is become a fan here and they'll send you a coupon for a free bag. Now, it is only for the first 100,000, so hurry. Free is always good, no matter how small the item.
Pureology is a fabulous brand of hair care, but they are normally way more expensive that I like to pay. They are doing a drawing for a free here of their Supersmooth serum or cream. Go enter, and help tame those flyaways quickly, and free! (if enough of us enter, someone has to win right?)
I told you a week ago that I had heard about a new coupon policy at Family Fresh Foods. Well, I called them yesterday so that I could make sure to get all of the details for you. So here are the details for the changes.
You must choose to either double coupons or price match, they no longer do both.
You need to choose on each item, so you can still do both on the same order.
If you choose to price match, you cannot use any coupons on that item.
Just thought I would let everyone know what's going on with this so that you don't get caught by surprise.
Guess what! Kmart is going to be having a double coupon event! I am so very excited. This promotional event will occur April 4th through April 10th! Not all stores will be participating, so you will want to call your Kmart. I tried to call mine (the Orem Kmart) and they did not know, and the employees will not know until the week it happens (but it sounded like they had done it before, so I'm betting they will again. The promotion should be going on at EVERY store in Utah, but some managers have been known to still refuse. So I would suggest to still call.
There are some rules that apply to the event, so read carefully.
You can only double 5 coupons per day. (I know I'll be shopping there every day that week, and possibly going to 2 different stores each day) ;)
Offer doesn't include Kmart Coupons or Pharmacy coupons
They will double up to a $2.00 coupon! That means you can get up to $4.00 off an item
Oh my goodness! I have never seen anything like this before. This week in the mail, Maceys sent out a "Budget Buster" packet. It has some fabulous deals in it. These coupons are good this week and next, and even if you accidentally threw it out, Maceys keeps some in the front at their store (by their ads). Here are the deals I am most excited about and I am going to try to use tomorrow.
Babybel cheese retail $3.99 (okay I'm probably not actually going to use this one, much as I want to)
$1 budget buster cpn = $2.99
Kretschmar Pre-Sliced Deli meat (again, I won't be getting this one, but if you are someone who really likes getting the nice meats...) retail $3.99
$2 budget buster cpn = $1.99
Land 'O Frost lunchmeats retail $3.29 (turkey, the ham I saw was more expensive)
$3 budget buster = $0.29 ea!
Buddig lunchmeat reatil $0.55
$0.55 budget buster =$0 (can get 4 with the same coupon)
Super Saver meat packages retail varies: I found a pork package as low as $3.74 and steak as low as $4.22
$3 budget buster = $0.74 (pork) $1.22 (steak) (can get 2 with the same coupon)
Armour Lunchmakers retail $1.58
$1.50 budget buster = $0.08 ea!
Farmland bacon retail $3.79
$2.50 budget buster = $1.29 (can get 4 with the same coupon)
Cache Valley cheese 8oz retail $3
2/$3 budget buster = $1.50 ea (can get 4 with the same coupon) (must buy 2)
Western Family sour cream retail $0.88
b1g1 budget buster = $0.44 ea wyb 2
So those are the deals at Maceys, but I found something even cooler! While the packet says Maceys on the front, the coupons say they are good at Associated Food Stores! So, if you wanted to, you could price check at some other places, and see which is cheapest, or you could just use them somewhere else, if you don't happen to have a Maceys nearby. I must say though, I was way excited to find this. I will let you know how everything goes tomorrow. I have 4 copies of the booklet, and so I'm hoping to be able to get lots and lots of freebies.
Here's another freebie for all of you out there. Become a fan of Vitamin Water on facebook, and they'll mail you a coupon for a free bottle. It's only for the first 100,000 fans though, so act fast. I don't believe you have to stay a fan, but I would until you get the coupon, just in case.
I have to say, I love getting free samples! They may not last very long, but all it takes is filling out your information. Even if you're just getting 1 load of laundry for free, its still 1 load that was FREE! So, here are some freebies I've found today.
-Bounce 4-in-1 dryer sheets. Now, this is from the Sam's Club website, and it does have a slot for you're member number, but it isn't required. I don't have a member number, and they just approved it, and are sending it to me.
My husband showed me a video of a woman who feeds her family on $4 a week for food. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Parenting/mom-feeds-family-week/story?id=8463295
It was crazy, and I thought I wanted to try that, so I am. This is where I will keep track of all that happens as I go through this. I will also post when I find good deals or websites.
